We are not going out.
Stevie is loving the heat…
Kristopher and Marcy too…

while David is laying low.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by with well wishes…everything is back on track and we are all feeling good.

Mom has been visiting your blogs, but has had some trouble getting her comments posted, she suspects it’s a Chrome browser window setting that’s the issue.
You are all a great bunch of friends!

A terribly scarry thing happened today, my house was broken into. Some cash, jewelry, and a bar of lemon soap were stolen. North Truro police arrived almost instantly and already had the suspects in custody.

In a few short hours I was identifying my things at the station, including $80. in bills marked just like the ones above.
The most important thing is that all cats are safe, because a window and door were left open. Oddly I had prepared the following photos for Halloween week

Know I know the Universe finds away to send me what I ask for…so I might have accidently asked for this, Lesson Learned.
And the important thing is that all cats are safe. And eating ham.

A sunny afternoon stroll down Arch St. in Provincetown’s East End revealed these flowers. It’s one of my favorite streets to venture down because there are a couple of houses about which I have concocted kinda elaborate scenarios about. More about them on another day.

It’s Pasta Night…Plain and simple. Maybe because something stable (thus comforting) is needed. I’m fortunate ( and smart): my operating system is stable, my housing is stable, and the two people who still love me are stable (wave if you’re out there). I guess I had a big shift in consciousness because I suddenly recognized the instability around me. I speak specifically of Provincetown and the more dramatic than ever change in the retail landscape…and the stimulating and surprising possibilities.
Every year businesses come and go, all hoping to make enough money during our 3 to 5 month season to cover a full years worth of operating expenses. This year it seems the opportunities for businesses to relocate to Provincetown, or for existing P-Town businesses to upgrade to more favorable spots, are tremendous. Many retail shops are available to rent as well as commercial condos for sale. Prices run from reasonable to “nuts” (You’d wonder if the landlady was back on the cough syrup (or hooch, or some cocaine derivative) again because she’s still asking an arm and a leg).
I typically take all this with ease, having successfully downsized Capes Treasures 2 years ago (Thank You Matthew for helping me see the Light), but my stable, artsy East End of Provincetown is poised for an energetic change. Two doors to my left, the shop is moving (and thus we assume it will be for rent) and two doors to my right, the shop is available. A spot has opened up behind Anthony’s Frozen Yogurt shop, one next to Now Voyager Books and one across from Bowerstock Gallery, where French Kiss was located. The entire condo complex formerly Little Gorgeous Things is still available.
Ears perking Up??? Well up in the West End, the old Town Camera is facing it’s sophomore vacancy and at least one shop and restaurant are available across from Provincetown Town Hall. Cuffy’s (mega giant distributor of irregular and factory second tourtist t shirts) has given up one of it’s Provincetown locations and a spot near The Black Dog is available. Provincetown has a subway sandwich shop for rent and a vacant coffee shop across the alley is just waiting for the right troupe of perky baristas to come to town. The old Don’t Panic is empty and it looks like there is a spot open across the way….The Caribbean restaurant appears to have vacated as well. An opportunity has opened up next to Cafe Heaven, and Toys of Eros has left it’s temporary home above Roots in the old City Video Location….so that could be available as well. How many video stores have an ocean view in their ” back room”? You know behind the beaded curtain. I always thought that was cool…hey I was never a big porn user, but when rumor is a town guy has broken into acting you just have to check it out.
Is Provincetown someplace you should be checking out? Is it your time to plant a foot into the sandy shores of the enchanted outercape? Now could very well be your time…One of Us One Of Us…
