I Love My Mom!
You are currently browsing the archives for August, 2009.

I think I hear rain, better stay home from work..

Please mom, I wanna make biskits on your belly!

Sorry kids, the downpours are over and the visitors want to buy treasures!

Here are some photos of Mommy’s first whale watch. We’ve got 6 tails in this house, why’d she have to go way out in the ocean to see these tails we don’t understand. She’s leaving by way of Provincetown harbor.

Longpoint Lighthouse on the way to Stellwagon Bank…the place where the whales live.

Every local (they return every season) whale has a name, I think this is “Salt”

Two at once!

Wow, four whales!

Flag at the stern…I used to think this was called “Rear Admirial” I have no idea where I got that from.
This U.S. Yacht Ensign (An ensign is a distinguishing flag of a ship or a military unit) was created in 1848 as a signal flag to be used by U.S. yachts. This was not intended to be an ensign, but was intended to be used as a signal flag by a yacht to declare itself exempt from customs duties. However, many nautical vessels started using this as an ensign, and eventually the government announced that they would accept this pr actice for boats in United States waters. It’s a cool looking flag even though it does not designate one’s posterior region as being admirable.

The hazy August sunset…

and the fun whale on the building. Whale Watching is highly recommended by the Cat Lady, it is not dorky, it’s cool. We have two options here in P-Town: Dolphin Feet and Captain John’s. Now the Captain also offers deep sea fishing, floating classroom excursions and a ferry from Plymouth. I think I met Captain John near his home on Arch St, which is a favorite photo spot of mine.

The weather is almost always nice in Provincetown, Massachusetts so come and take a whale watch!

Little Stevie Katz here, with a giant Wally from Seaberry Surf in Wellfleet, “the summer home of psychoanalysts” as a popular bumper sticker once proclaimed.) The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are in an exciting series and the visitors to Massachusetts are hot with Baseball fever! She’s busy all day and night at the shop selling Red Sox Treasures and I must entertain myself. What I am really enjoying is this mouse sent to me from Ginger Jasper…all the way in England! I don’t know if they have baseball in England, but they do have this thing where they roll huge wheels of cheese down a hill and young Englash lads tumble down in pursuit. I enjoy cheese but I’m not gonna chase it down a hill! I prefer Mom to put my food on a plate for me. I have 2 videos of me and the mousie but Mom’s having a little trouble getting Wordpress to accept them. If they are not working here you can see them on Mommy’s Facebook page.
The theme for this year’s Provincetown Carnival Parade is Peace, Love, and Go-Go boots….we are not going to be watching the parade…we will be chilling out at home waiting for more ham and chicken.

This street is too crowded for Kittens!

Best boots of the year!

Make way for the Hare Krishnas! Chant and be happy!

Everyone loves a monkey…
To see a fantastic bunch of professional photos visit my new friend Mark J. Pike …He has a great album filled with parade photos. (I can’t link to them directly, because they are on Facebook.
Oopps, almost forgot the shot at 10am…people lining up to see the 4PM parade go by!

Here are some Provincetown ducks in their wagon at PULP on Commercial st.

Our fatty blue duck appears courtesy of Matthew, who was eaten by a tiger in a previous life, so this time around he’s allergic. Hum. We love you Matthew.
Oh my gosh, Saturday photohunt already! This summer is especially busy, so out of the files I pulled this “artificial” photo of Arjuna at the marina. Arjuna has never been to a marina. She went straight from Provincet0wn to Truro, and as far as I know has never left the house. This photo is artificial. And not very well done, but she’s still so cute.
